We
moved to New Zealand in 2004 after years of hard work towards meeting the
strict immigration requirements. Great news arrived on Christmas Eve 2003
which made it the best present ever!
Back in the UK, James had a successful furniture design and retail business. He started the business upon his return from a backpacking trip in 1997, when the dream to move down under was born. Natalia has a degree in Business & Finance which was obtained in the UK, where we met.
Our eco friendly hybrid homes idea was developed though building our own home. When we arrived in NZ, we spent 2 years looking for our perfect home, only to discover that it did not exist. We wanted a modern home in a city environment that was eco friendly, self sufficient and future proofed. So after 2 years of research, we commenced building our first property.
It has been a real learning curve! Regardless of the stress, worry and dealing with the usual building site dramas, we discovered a real passion for building quality eco homes. James's design skills and ability to think "outside the square" came in handy with tricky hill sites. Natalia's business planning and financial management offered skills in project management and budgeting. Overall, we feel, we make a great team!
In the last 3 years, eco building has come a long way. It's great to see so many new eco friendly products coming on board every day. We strive to be the best in this fast moving industry, to be recognised for building cutting edge sustainable homes and make our planet a cleaner and greener place to live.
